Don't let them ruin another park
This development would have dangerous access onto main road which would then become an accident black-spot.
This is not a Brownfield Site and should not be considered for the type of re-development that would alter the character and visual impact of a beautiful and ecologically sensitive area. Vast tracts of the inner city remain derelict, whilst unspoilt areas are targeted by ruthless developers unconcerned by the long-term effects of unsightly, poorly conceived construction projects. Their only concern is profit related and
must be vigorously opposed.
The area has itself become a haven for nature and wildlife, providing the local residents with a place for relaxation and education to study the many types of birds, small animals, wild flowers and trees that live
there.
It would be a real tragedy to allow the developers to use this wonderful space in the heart of Bristol for yet more building. The area is already growing out of control and this area is a fantastic place to go
for walks, with family and dogs alike.
DON'T DEVELOP!!!!!
Please don’t build on the valley it is such a shame to ruin it.
We can save it.
Build somewhere else!
Preserve our valley not destroy it.
I walk my dogs in Nightingale Valley at least once every week and would hate to see this development go ahead.
Is there anything else we can do to help?

Big mistake, don't turn Nightingale valley in to the same dismal sights every where else in bristol please.
I strongly object to these plans - save the integrity of this area which is the only unspoiled spot in the whole of Brislington/St Anne's
I am a 4 year staffordshire bull terrier and I love Nightingale Valley, please don't build on it - as it where I go for my walks
used to live at the above ,now live near Nottingham spent most of my childhood in the valley, would be a tragedy to loose it
The Valley and its environment needs to be protected for the benefit of the local people and future generations
we don't want new houses built
Don't let them get away with it!. Its all about money. The developers that want to desecrate Nightingale Valley are are a growing menace. I am 68 years old and was born and have lived in St. Anne's all my
life and would hate to see Nightingale Valley disfigured.
its a shame that they could soil a lovely little piece of country side in the middle of our town.
I agree that it would have a devastating effect on an area of natural beauty and the wildlife that is found there.

It would destroy all the wildlife that live there and ruin the entire area and make it dangerous to walk around

Please don't ruin such a beautiful unspoilt area that nestles in the heart of St Anne's and is loved and enjoyed by so many people in the neighbourhood.
Having grown up in St. Anne's in the 60/70's the Valley was a wonderful peaceful place and it should remain so, not turn it into a concrete jungle.
Please save the Valley
Why do you want to build on this beautiful place? Please save it for us to enjoy and learn from.
I have lived in Brislington for 40 years. I have six children and a dog. We use the valley daily. It seems every piece of land is being developed in Brislington lately.
I would be heartbroken if this development goes ahead. It is a real sanctuary for myself and my dog Fen.
It is great to be able to walk down St Anne's Terrace safe in the knowledge that there will only be the odd very carefully driven car to encounter. I found the noise and eyesore that the new flats built on Wick Road overlooking the woods distressing enough, let alone the thought of having to encounter trucks and god knows what else on a daily basis if the new development goes ahead. We have so little greenery left in our cities and we must preserve what is left for future generations. I would be tempted to move out of Bristol if this development goes ahead.
I was brought up in St Anne's and spent many happy hours in St Anne's Wood and Nightingale valley, when older I enjoyed walking the dog there as it was like being in the countryside. We need to keep these
havens of undeveloped land or else the whole of city life will be literally a concrete jungle which would be a great loss to the community.
Having lived in st. Anne's as a child, I remember regularly walking through nightingale valley with my parents (even cycling through with friends, when i knew it (& st Anne's woods) were strictly 'off limits'), thinking this was a world removed from the continuous newbridge/wick rd traffic. how many more 'havens' does this country need to lose before somebody, somewhere realises its too late ? good luck with
your petition, i have emailed the link to my parents (who now live in ireland), hopefully they will sign up too !
I Have lived in Briz for 25 years and there are to many houses going up in quiet little areas this must stop now.
Horrified at the thought of losing this amenity .This building will be the thin end of a wedge.
Also the problems of traffic on Wick Rd are bad enough now with out this additional load The road from Nightingale Valley is poor and the EXIT TO Wick Rd forms a traffic hazard which could cause many accidents
I was born in Bristol and have lived in Brislington since 1980. I have spent many hours walking in Nightingale Valley and it is a treasure worth keeping for our generation and the next. Please no development.
moved to Brislington about 10yrs ago moving from the other side of Nightingale Valley Redfield. As a young boy I spent many hours playing in this area of Bristol, and now as an adult I continue to enjoy this gem within the city of Bristol. Please no development
Both my sons are Scouts who use East-Winds Scout hut.
The building of 2 blocks of flats in this quiet little lane would have a terrible effect on a beautiful bit of woodland on our doorsteps. Nightingale Valley deserves to be protected.
think that such a residential building would be disastrous for the area and would like to see this unique, inner city habitat preserved.
I'm disgusted, this is a haven that needs to be treasured, it's all about MONEY!! and building on every bit of green space...this is the reason I'm thinking of moving out of Bristol!!
Save this lovely area
Memories being taken away
As the Explorer Scout Commissioner for the area and who's Explorers meet at the Scout Hut, I would like to add my name to the petition.
It would be a great shame for any building work to happen in this area of great nature. There are already plenty of buildings being converted to flats without the need for even more!
I regularly go walking in Nightingale valley, it would be sad to disturb any nature for the need to accommodate a few more people.
former st.anne's resident please retain this beautiful rural enclave
This area must be saved for us all to enjoy.
Please leave the woodland as it is.
used to play in the woods when I was a kid. It would be a total shame to see it go.
Mr Donaldson,
I write with reference to the above planning application, and wish to voice my concerns at the prospect of the proposed housing development.
I am a resident of Woodcroft Road (which backs onto Nightingale Valley), and we regularly take walks through the valley with our dogs and family enjoying the tranquility and wildlife that can be found there.
The valley is partly the reason that we bought our property, living as close to the town centre as we do, we feel extremely fortunate to have such beautiful landscape and nature on our doorstep. It is rare to live this close to a town centre and to have something so beautiful close by.
The valley is a place for children in the area to grow up appreciating and learning about the wildlife, and for people of all ages to visit and enjoy. It is the one
This proposal will destroy the wildlife and what green we have.
It will have a massive impact on the community and wildlife. The road /area would not cope with the influx of traffic alone, and the noise pollution would be lengthy and unbearable.
Build elsewhere - why choose this spot? It's not like the valley is waste land waiting to be built on - it's a natural habitat for many species of wildlife and its our community, and one which all local residents use and enjoy
As having lived in near by first ave for many many years i feel I know the area very well, I am all for Progress/change call it what you like, but this project has totally no benefit to the local community.
This must not and should not get the green light.
I am a past chairman of Brislington Conservation and Amenity Society and know this area well.
This beautiful rural spot is totally unsuitable for such a major increase in population density because the
increase in traffic will have a very detrimental effect on current residents of St Anne's Terrace and on the abundant wildlife in the area.
It will also mean a lot more traffic accessing Wick Road at an already dangerous spot.
Further, the proposal is totally out of keeping with this locale. If this cottage were to be replaced, it should be by a building of similar size and style. In addition, what sort of people would want to live in flats right on top of the main London railway line?
As per most 'developments' in the Brislington and St Anne's area there are little considerations for keeping the period feel of the mainly victorian and 1930s built properties, absolutely no consideration for parking, nhs facilities (all overstretched in these areas).
The Emergency services will have problems negotiating the very small road down to this ''development''/ Weight restrictions on Wick Road will be put under strain if the development goes ahead/ Finally, most important, the wildlife once gone will never return, home to a great deal of bats badgers birds &
insects. (I forgot, the scout hut-how long will it be before these 'new' residents start complaining about campfires/children having fun???)
this area is the last of a few beautiful places, which are disappearing with no need too, just for someone or company to earn money from
I don't object to development in the right places, people and families need good, safe homes to live in. However, there has to be a sense of balance.
The area is already subject to a lot of development and developing the area in question here poses certain risks: multi-occupancy housing places a huge demand on already aged drainage systems; the road which would be used as the main access just could not support such a huge increase in traffic - it's barely more than a track, so the road (and all the safety concerns that brings)would need to be upgraded.
The case against is stronger than just preserving an area which the local dogs appear to love, you have to think about the implications of over-developing one of the few remaining green spaces in this town.
Having lived in Briz for 5 years I have only recently discovered Nightingale Valley through the publicity surrounding this campaign. I'm constantly surprised by Brislington's 'hidden' green areas (the meadows
around Victory Park being another area) Perhaps those proposing development should fully explore the town before making up their minds, and realise they have a civic responsibility to protect or improve their
town (rather than just their bank balances). I also wanted to add that you don't have to be a lifelong resident or dog walker to appreciate such havens!
12 additional residences in such a small space is certainly over-development - the local road system will not support it, and I hate to think what a safety hazard the precariously steep access road would be like during the winter months!
It's bad enough letting national rail cut all those trees down let alone the other side of the fence!!!
Please don't do it!!
save our wildlife and our precious green space.
A planning application should not be granted. It will destroy the peace of Nightingale Valley. If permission is granted for 12 houses it won't be long before the whole valley is under construction.
Please don't ruin the valley and its environment, it's precious!
Can't believe that this development could get the go-ahead. Why do today's developers have the attitude of if there's land, build on it? Can't any green areas be left untouched? I think this modern development would be a blot on the landscape, completely out of keeping with it's surroundings.
Stop this development
Leave the valley alone
THE BUILDING OF THE FLATS WILL BE OUT OF PLACE WITH THE SURRONDING AREA AND THE EXTRA TRAFFIC WILL SPOIL THE TRANQUIL SURRONDINGS

I would like to register my objection to the proposed buildings on the site above.
This area is not suitable for development. The access to the land is poor and is no more than a lane leading to the small number of dwellings already in existence. To add more traffic to the on and off flow onto the main road, so close to the traffic calming measures now in place would be dangerous.

Nightingale Valley is a natural end to the much used Golden Valley walk and must as a whole, be an area worth conserving. Rich with wild life and thriving tree and plant species, an environmentally good place for the residents nearby and the City.

The Valley has been a sheltered oasis, a step back in time, but one still worth preserving. The lives of the people still living in The Valley would change beyond recognition if the plans to build go ahead, and the whole
character of the place would change forever. There must be a lot more Brown Fill sites that could be developed , (ugly places that would could be enhanced by a new build) before we start chipping away at havens of beauty, peace and tranquility that everyone can take pleasure from.
Haven't we learnt the lesson yet that building bocks of concrete is not the answer to the housing problem?

I remember Nightingale Valley at its best, the place where I grew up as a child in No 3, with my parents and grandparents just after the war. I experienced the community spirit that was there at that time, and to a
degree exists now. It has not changed a lot during the years since that time.
I hope the Planning Committee will think long and hard before they agree to this development that will destroy something precious.

up until recently I lived in Salisbury rd and would regularly walk and explore the valley and felt it was a special place that was valued by most who visited it.
I do believe that a lot of the development around Brislington is needed but I agree that this area needs to be left alone. I feel sad that the old bakery at the top of Sandy Park is being developed and the
shell of the original building was destroyed.
Nightingale Valley is a wonderful area and to destroy it and add more housing will be a disaster. I am already concerned about how fast people drive along my road (Newbridge) so adding more traffic will only make
matters worse, let alone construction traffic.
Nightingale valley is one of the few places not ruined by council greed and we love walking our dogs here. The council will not listen except to money and it is about time we showed them that money is not everything!
This area is an outstanding nature park, and does not need any extra development in it.
There is not enough space to have extra Residents let alone the increased traffic and the associated problems that could cause.
As the Explorer Scout leader of the young people that meet at the Eastwinds Scout Hut in the valley, I believe that further development would detract from the beautiful surrounds that are on offer for all within the community.
An increase in traffic would be a hazard as well as an increase in pollution and noise.
Keep the valley how it is and build your flats somewhere else.
I grew up with Nightingale Valley on my doorstep and still treasure it as an oasis in the middle of suburbia. Sadly, it's a sign of the times: developers seeing an opportunity to make a fast buck and to hell with anyone and everything else. And to think that flats are going to be built down THERE beggars belief really. It's obvious that no thought has been given to the long term effects upon the environment and immediate
community. It's got to be saved and if people are proactive, we can all help to stop it.
This valley is beautiful and full of wildlife. I have even seen a kingfisher here. If this development goes ahead I will be surprised if I see it again. Well, if a bit of money can be made why not ruin our children's' future environment?
Has this person gone mad!!! who in their right mind could even consider building blocks of flats in an area of such beauty.. It has to be merely for monetary gain...no thought whatsoever for anyone or anything else ..Flats here would totally destroy the look of the area, destroy wildlife and of course ruin the lives of residents and the people who use this beautiful valley..Why are people so hell bent on ruining our little havens ..
The City Council do not need to look long and hard at this crazy proposal, they just have to say .. NO W A Y! .. A decision in favour of this development would be completely barmy!!

I am fighting to stop sports development at packers field whitehall.
have applied to register field as a town green as the council has ignored our objections. Have been on walks through nightingale valley and its lovely, don't give up try open spaces society as they deal with law issues.

It would be a terrible mistake to allow building developments in Nightingale Valley, an area that gives so much pleasure to so many people.
We must save our green spaces. As a young mum some 30years ago this haven of peace was a gem I could walk through and get away from the noise of city life. I now take my grandson for him to enjoy and experience wildlife and woodland.
People turn up in our communities, ruin and spoil and are never seen again, selfish greedy people. We must not allow this to happen.
I frequently walk my families dogs in the beautiful area. It really is a haven in amongst all the houses - Lets hope common sense prevails and that planning permission is rejected!
